Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at  if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Counselling with Different Therapy will offer you a confidential space with a qualified and

experienced counsellor. You and your counsellor will work together, developing a

therapeutic alliance where we hope you will feel safe and supported as we explore

whatever it is that is bringing you to counselling.

During your first appointment, we will discuss the Different Therapy contract, detailing

how we will work together in the therapeutic process. Your counsellor will ask you some

questions and together we will create a goal and discuss how will work collaboratively to

bring about the change you are seeking.

Anything! There is no right or wrong here – this is your counselling journey. You decide

what you want to talk about.

No. Your counselling will be unique to you. Meaning the number of sessions you attend

will be individual to you. However, your counsellor will regularly check in with you and

evaluate your progress, in line with ethical practice.

Everyone’s counselling experience will be unique to them; however, you can expect a

welcoming environment where you will be listened to by your counsellor, who will give

you time to talk through what has brought you to counselling. Counselling is a unique

situation where it is all about you, the client.
