I am an integrative counsellor, experienced in working with a range of issues, and using tools to uniquely support my individual clients. My passion for this work began many years ago when I benefited from my own personal counselling and this passion has grown over the years. Just as I continue my personal growth, my professional development is on a continuum. We can always learn!
It is a privilege, beyond measure, to work therapeutically with others, and I believe that everyone, regardless of any trauma, label, or experience, deserves to live their very best life. I believe we all have the capacity to make this happen.
Over the years, my work has shown time and time again, that we are often unsure how to be unapologetically ourselves. We don’t know how to accept ourselves. We ‘hide’ who we truly are, to fit in, to not be called out, to go under the radar. We are exposed to many factors that shape and
mould us in a version that is determined by what others expect from us.
Now it is your turn. I can help you shake off that which was attached over the years but doesn’t serve you well now. You can be assured that whatever you share with me in your sessions, you will be accepted as you have always deserved to be. You won’t experience judgement. We will work together, exploring whatever brings you to counselling, and while it will be hard work, we will find space for laughter along the way.
I am an integratively trained counsellor and work with both individuals and couples on a wide range of issues. I strive every day to be the counsellor that I needed when I was growing up and progressing through adulthood, especially while I was trying to figure out who I was.
I am passionate that counselling can be a life changing experience given the correct professional relationship with your therapist. I believe it is crucial for you to feel comfortable to bring your whole self to counselling, not just some of you; not just the parts that society has told you are ‘acceptable’.
My specialism lies in GSRD – Gender, Sexuality and Relationship diversity. I am a sex positive and kink aware counsellor and I have much of experience working with LGBTQIA+ clients. It is your choice whether you bring those labels into the counselling room, they may have nothing to do with why you are there. However, my experience has shown me that it is critical for you the client to know, that you can unpack them at any time without fear of judgement.
I believe there is only one expert in the counselling room - YOU. You are the one who has the experience of living your life up to this point and it is a huge privilege to be asked to come on the therapeutic journey with you.
